The 2010 Samsung Galaxy S series added Fascinate to Verizon’s Android lineup. Although Fascinate runs on Android 2.1 the 2.2 Froyo update will become available soon. The phone is the latest in a series of phones which are made available on all carriers. Verizon’s handset is the last in the series.
The phone retails for $199.99, but there is a buy one get one free deal. However, the deal requires you to first purchase a handset for $300, and a second one for $100. You then get two mail in rebates. Remember to fill them out and send them in, because that’s how you get the “free” phone.
The excitement and buzz over the Fascinate is somewhat overshadowed by all of the recent smartphone releases at Verizon. The Motorola Droid X and Droid 2 was released this summer, as was the still popular HTC Droid Incredible.
The phone comes with a 1 Ghz processor, 5 mp camera, and the super AMOLED screen we’ve come to love. There’s a bit of a buzz over this Samsung phone not offering Google search, but that’s not really the case. Users can still head to Google and do any search they please. This Samsung Galaxy S phone, Fascinate, at Verizon is really sure to please even the pickiest of techies.
